Partnerships
In trying to implement its objectives, AVA has created important partnerships whose implementation is at different levels. Among these the following should be mentioned:
Office of the Prime Minister which is helping us to implement the Development Response to Displacement Impact Project (DRDIP) project as will be described above.
National Forest Authority which allocated AVA 100ha to restore in Bugoma forest.
Kamwenge District Local Government, especially the Office of District Natural
Resources.
Kikuube District Local Government with which we have a Memorandum of
Understanding.
Mbarara University of Science and Technology especially through its Pharm-Bio
Technology and Traditional Medicine Centre (PHARMBIOTRAC) with which we
organised a week to train the community on using African medicine.
Makerere University Biological Field Station, at Kanyawara, in Kibale National Park, in
Kabarole District/
Kibale Association for Rural and Environmental Development (KAFRED), Kamwenge
Kamwenge Bee Keepers Cooperative Society and Credit (KABECOS), Kamwenge
Partners for the Land and Agricultural Needs of Traditional Peoples (PLANT), in
Ireland, in which two Directors of AVA are also Directors of PLANT
AccordioFranciscan Brothers Adraa Agriculture College (AAC), Madi Okollo District which helped to train two cohorts of young people chosen by AVA in sustainable agriculture.
