In February 2021, the National Forest Authority allocated AVA 100 hectares of degraded forestland to restore and hand over after three years. AVA later received another USAID through UBF grant to contribute to biodiversity in and around Bugoma Central Forest Reserve, restored 111.8 hectares, distributed more than 17,000 indigenous seedlings, and trained leaders and communities in five villages.
