The beginning of AVA is rooted in an International Conference organised at Uganda Martyrs University, Nkozi, Uganda, September 1998, under the theme of eradicating poverty. In 1999, a National Workshop was held at UMU and a decision was taken to form AVA, later registered in 2001.
